Stefano Gherardini<\/strong>: I obtained my Ph.D. in Information Engineering, curriculum Non-linear Dynamics and Complex Systems, in early 2018 from the University of Florence, where I worked under the supervision of Stefano Ruffo and Filippo Caruso. Subsequently I held postdoctoral positions at the University of Florence, the European Laboratory for Non-linear Spectroscopy (LENS), the Italian National Institute of Optics (CNR-INO) in Florence, and the Instituto Superior T\u00e9cnico and Instituto de Telecomunica\u00e7\u00f5es in Lisbon. From 2021, I am a permanent researcher at CNR-INO, first in Trieste and currently in Florence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My research focuses on quantum thermodynamics, quantum statistical mechanics and fluctuation theorems, large deviation theory, open quantum systems and decoherence, non-Markovianity, quantum sensing, and quantum Zeno phenomena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marco Pezzutto<\/strong>: I am currently a tenured researcher at Instituto Superior T\u00e9cnico, within University of Lisbon, Portugal. I obtained a Master degree in theoretical physics from University of Trieste (IT), and a PhD in Physics from University of Lisbon in 2018. Subsequently, I held post-doctoral positions at University of Lisbon, University of Luxembourg, and in the context of project QuReCo at the Italian National Institute of Optics, within the National Research Council (CNR-INO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My research interests fall within the fields of open quantum systems, quantum information, quantum thermodynamics and quantum technologies. More specifically, my work has been focused on topics such as quantum non-Markovianity and its thermodynamic implications, the role of system-environment correlations, quantum thermal machines and the thermodynamic aspects of information processing from a fundamental perspective. Moreover, I am also interested in the energetic aspects of quantum computing with a more application-oriented approach, with particular attention to platforms based on trapped ions, neutral atoms, superconducting qubits and spins in semiconductors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
